What Floatback is, and what it isn't
Floatback can sit with you while you work through something that's been weighing on you, gently, at your own pace, on your own time. It helps to be clear from the start about what that means, and what it doesn't.
Floatback is a self-guided coaching tool. It gives you structure, good questions, and research-informed techniques to work with difficult experiences. But you're the one in the driver's seat the whole way through. You decide what to work on, how far to go, and when to stop. Nothing here gets decided for you.
What it is
A private space for self-discovery and for working with hard experiences, one at a time, using techniques drawn from EMDR research. It helps you understand your own story: the experiences that shaped you, the patterns you notice, and the beliefs underneath them. Think of it as structured self-reflection with tools, the kind of thing you might do with a journal or a thoughtful friend who asks the right questions, but built around a specific method.
What it isn't
Floatback isn't therapy, and it doesn't try to be. It doesn't diagnose anything, it doesn't treat a condition, and it isn't a substitute for working with a licensed professional. There's no clinician on the other side assessing you or making decisions about your care. It also isn't a crisis service. When something is outside what it can do, it will tell you plainly and point you toward real help.
You're the one who knows your life best. My job is just to walk beside you and hold the structure. You set the direction.
How they fit together
If you're already working with a therapist, Floatback is meant to sit alongside that, not replace it. If you're not, it can be a gentle place to start doing some of the work on your own. Either way, it stays honest about its limits. It would rather tell you the truth about what it can't do than pretend otherwise.
If you're in real distress or thinking about harming yourself, please reach a person. Floatback isn't built for a crisis, and that's okay. This is what those lines are for. Call or text 988, or text HOME to 741741.
