Why we built this
Floatback exists because the gap between needing help and getting help is too wide. Therapy is the best thing we've got, and many people still can't reach it: because of cost, waitlists, geography, stigma, or because the idea of telling a stranger about the worst day of their life feels impossible right now.
We're building a self-guided coaching tool that meets you where that gap is. It uses techniques drawn from EMDR research, and it brings the structure of a real method to a private, calm space you control. It's not therapy. It doesn't try to be. It's a quiet room to sit in while you do some of the work yourself.
Our whole job is to make that room safer, more useful, and more honest than the things people would otherwise be alone with at 2am.

What we won't do.
Floatback isn't therapy, doesn't diagnose anything, and isn't a crisis service. It's a self-guided coaching tool that uses techniques drawn from EMDR research. When something is outside its scope, it says so plainly and points you to a real resource.
We won't gamify the work. No streaks, no urgency, no "you haven't opened this in a while." Going slow is never the wrong choice in this room.
