    Why I Built Floatback

A money coach who kept hitting his own stuck patterns went looking for what actually helps, and built the thing he wished existed. This is what Floatback is, and who it is for.

I am a money coach. For five years I sat with people one on one, more than 300 of them, helping them face the stuff with money that kept them stuck. The shame, the avoidance, the same quiet panic that showed up every time they opened their banking app.

Here is the part I do not usually lead with. The whole time I was helping other people, I had my own version of it I could not seem to fix. I knew the strategies. I taught the strategies. And I still kept hitting the same wall in myself, the same avoidance I could have sworn I had already worked through. It ran deeper than anything a budget or a mindset trick could reach.

So I did something I had been putting off for a long time. I went to a therapist and did EMDR. Real EMDR, with a trained person in the room.

And it did what nothing else had. Because the money stuff was never really about money. Underneath it was older stuff, moments from a long time ago that my body still treated like they were happening right now. I would feel that flash of "you are going to mess this up," or "there will never be enough," and I was not really reacting to today. I was reacting to something from years back that never got put away. EMDR helped my brain finally finish filing those old moments so they stopped firing in the present. Things I had carried for decades got quieter. Not erased. Just settled, and filed where they belonged.

The gap I could not unsee

Here is the part that led to Floatback.

After a while I felt ready to wrap up with my therapist, but I was not ready to stop doing the work. I wanted to keep going on my own. So I went looking for something that could help me keep at it, on the everyday stuff that still came up.

That is where I hit a wall. There were basically two options. Go back to a therapist, which can mean waitlists, real money, and building your life around an appointment. Or try to do it yourself with a video that tells you to move your eyes and hope for the best, with nothing actually paying attention to how you are doing.

There was nothing in between. Nothing that could walk with me into the real stuff, move at my pace, and actually steady me if it started to feel like too much.

    So I built it.

    What Floatback is

    Floatback is that middle thing.

It is a guide that sits with you and helps you do real work on the patterns that keep running you, gently and at your speed. It pays attention. It slows down when you need it to slow down. It knows the difference between you settling and you starting to drift, and it steadies you when you need steadying. And it is honest with you the whole way about what it is.

What it is like to use it

You start by just talking. No forms, no scales, no clinical intake. As you talk, Floatback quietly builds a map of what is going on, the patterns, the beliefs sitting underneath them, and how they connect to each other. Most of us carry this stuff as a fog. Seeing it laid out in front of you is its own kind of relief. Half the time you do not realize two things are even connected until you see them sitting right next to each other.

When you are ready to actually work on something, you move into a focused session. Same coach, just a different room. One space is for getting your bearings and seeing the whole picture. The other is for rolling up your sleeves on one piece at a time. You are never handed off to a different bot that does not know you. It is one guide the whole way through.

And it remembers you. The next time you come back, Floatback knows where you left off and what you have already moved through. It does not make you re-explain your whole life every time you sit down. It builds on the last conversation, the way a good relationship does. The more you work with it, the better it knows the shape of what you are carrying, and the more it can help.

    What it is not

Because here is what it is not, and I will always tell you straight. It is not therapy. It is not a doctor. It cannot diagnose you, and it is not a replacement for a real person when your stuff calls for one. If you are in crisis, or working with something you cannot safely stay grounded around on your own, Floatback is built to say so plainly and point you toward the right help instead of pushing on.

That honesty is the whole point. It is the reason you can trust it to take you somewhere that actually matters.

    Who I made it for

I made this for the person who keeps reacting and is tired of it. The one who has read the books and done the mindset work and still feels the old stuff running the show. The one who is curious about this kind of healing but does not want it to be cold, or clinical, or scary. The one who wants to do the work on their own terms, without doing it completely alone.

If that sounds like you, you are exactly who I was picturing the whole time I built this.

    One last thing

I am not here to tell you that you are broken. You are not. The old stuff simply never got put away, and that can change.

If you want to feel what it is like to finally start filing it where it belongs, come try Floatback. I built it for you.
